The Ministry of Health has issued clarifications here in Greek as regards the Mandatory weekly inspections announced in the Ministry of Health announcements yesterday 27/01/21. What follows is an unofficial translation.
Aiming at the implementation of the threefold “test-vaccinations-strict monitoring of the implementation of the measures”, the Ministry of Health invests in the implementation of a program of mass and regular control of employees with the method of antigen rapid test.
In order to strengthen the surveillance of the epidemiological situation, while ensuring the operation of businesses and the reduction of possible transmission to the workplace, the mandatory weekly antigen test of staff working in companies that are operating and / or will be reactivated next is now enacted based on the strategy of lifting the measures.
In particular, companies should ensure that their staff is inspected weekly as follows:
- Businesses / services that employ up to 3 people, the test should be carried out on all employees.
- Businesses / services employing from 4 to 10 people, the test should be done on at least 4 employees.
- Businesses / services that employ more than 10 people, the test should be done on at least 4 people or 20% of employees, whichever is greater in number.
Utilizing the program of the Ministry of Health through which 51 sampling stations will operate under extended hours, the employees of the companies that have not suspended their operation, can be examined from today.
It is noted that at the sampling stations there are two workshops for the best and quickest service of the employees and the general population.
It is emphasized that employers have a responsibility to coordinate the re-examination of employees and to ensure that they have at all times and on a weekly basis a rapid test on their staff as defined above.
To monitor the implementation of the measure, intensive sampling checks will be carried out in the companies by the Health Officers of the Ministry of Health and the other competent Departments.
