Due to the rapid increase in cases of the Omicron variant in the United Kingdom, all passengers entering the Republic of Cyprus from 18 December 2021 over the age of 12, regardless of vaccination coverage or previous illness, must apply the following :
- Until the PCR result is issued, they are obliged to remain in self-isolation in their place of residence. In case of a positive result, they remain strictly in self-isolation and await instructions from the Epidemiological Surveillance & Infectious Diseases Control Unit of the Ministry of Health.
- Upon arrival, passengers receive a package containing 5 self-tests, which they must use in case they have a negative result in the PCR examination performed at the airport. The passengers will conduct a self-test every day and in case of a positive result, they will contact their Personal Doctor in Cyprus, to refer them for PCR examination at the Public Health Clinics of their province of residence. If they do not have a Personal Doctor in Cyprus, then they will contact the Coordination of Public Health Clinics directly at the email: coordination.iatreiadygeias@moh.gov.cy by sending their identification details (name, surname, telephone, ID number, date of birth and province) , as well as a photo of their positive self-test.
- Within 72 hours of their arrival, given that in the previous days they had a negative result in conducting the self-test, they should conduct a rapid test in the mobile units of the Ministry of Health and send the result to the email: monada2@mphs.moh.gov.cy through the website from which they will publish it (www.eudcc.gov.cy) by selecting SEND. To be eligible for the rapid test for free, they must present their boarding pass at the sampling point.
- During the first days after the arrival of the passengers in the Republic of Cyprus, it is recommended to be especially careful and to have limited contacts, to observe the personal protection measures (use of a mask, hand hygiene, keeping distance) and to avoid any physical contact with persons belonging to in vulnerable groups.
