Update on the unanimous approval of the FDIS Bill by the House of Representatives of the Republic of Cyprus on 30 October 2025.

The approved Bill establishes the Screening Mechanism under the EU Foreign Direct Investment Screening (FDIS) Regulation (EU) 2019/452.

Following this parliamentary approval, the Bill will be transmitted to the President of the Republic for signature and subsequent publication in the Official Gazette, at which point it will become law. These steps are expected to take place in the coming week.

Further to this development, CIBA will soon organize an FDIS-related Seminar to discuss the application of the EU Regulation and the forthcoming national legislation.
