InvestEU agreements have finally been signed by the European Commission & EIB Group, releasing billions for investment across the European Union

The Guarantee Agreement on a European Union budget of €19.65 billion has been signed by the European Commission, the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Investment Fund (EIF) to support investment projects across Europe.

Sustainable infrastructure; research, innovation and digitization; small and medium-sized businesses; and social investment & skills are 4 of the main policy areas the Investments under the InvestEU programme will focus on.

In addition, the European Commission and the EIB also signed the InvestEU Advisory Hub agreement which will provide up to €270 million for market development, developing skills and project level advisory services in the same policy areas.

The agreements open gateways for new investments and related advisory assistance in support of Europe’s post-pandemic recovery and green and digital transitions.

With the implementation of the InvestEU programme, the European Union reached a major milestone by receiving the signature of the Guarantee and Advisory Hub Agreements between the European Commission, the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Investment Fund (EIF).

The InvestEU programme holds a major role for the European Union’s largest ever catalyst package to recover from the catastrophic pandemic and help build a greener, more digital, and expansive European economy.  This will further help support the European economy in encountering new challenges resulting from major uncertainties associated with the global and protective outlook.
