The five new plans to support Businesses, Employees and the Unemployed were announced by the Minister of Labour on June 17th

The Minister for Labour, Welfare and Social Insurance presented today five plans as approved by the Ministerial Council to support Businesses, Employees and the Unemployed.

  1. Special Plan for Hotel Units and Tourist Accommodation
  2. Special Financial Activity Plan related to the Tourism Industry or Financial Activities which are directly affected by Tourism or Financial Activities associated with Businesses that are subject to Mandatory Full Suspension
  3. Special Plan for Businesses of Specific Financial Activities
  4. Special Plan for Complete Suspension of Company Operations
  5. Special Plan to Support the Unemployed

 

  1. SPECIAL PLAN FOR HOTEL UNITS AND TOURIST ACCOMMODATION

Prerequisites

  1. No employee has been fired from March 1, 2020 until October 31, 2020, except for reasons for dismissal without notice. It is understood that companies will not be able to fire employees for financial reasons during the above period.
  2. It is the obligation of the hotel units and tourist accommodation involved in the Special Plan to provide attractive offers for attracting domestic tourism in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism. This obligation will be examined by the competent Ministry of Tourism throughout the validity of the Plan, regardless of the date of payment of Special Unemployment Benefits.
  3. The company will be able to join the Plan of Hotel Units and Tourist Accommodations as long there is an Approved Accountant Report, which supports the reduction of the turnover of the company that wants to participate in the Special Plan.
  4. Employees (Hotel Employees), who have been fired before March 1, 2020 by hotel units and tourist accommodation will be included in the employer coverage rate if hired during the reactivation of the business.

 

  1. SPECIAL FINANCIAL ACTIVITY PLAN RELATED TO THE TOURISM INDUSTRY OR FINANCIAL ACTIVITIES WHICH ARE DIRECTLY AFFECTED BY TOURISM OR FINANCIAL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATED WITH BUSINESSES THAT ARE SUBJECT TO MANDATORY FULL SUSPENSION

The Plan in question is addressed to any company:

  • linked to the tourism industry or
  • carrying out economic activity directly affected by Tourism or
  • engages in economic activity that is subject to mandatory full suspension, in accordance with the most recent Decrees Ministry of Health and / or the relevant Decisions of the Council of Ministers.

Prerequisites

  2. For companies that employ up to 3 employers, a Special Unemployment Allowance will be paid to all employees.
  3. The company will be considered connected to the economic activities mentioned in the Plan under the precondition that the 40% of the company’s turnover comes from these economic activities
  4. The company will be able to join the Plan as long there is an Approved Accountant’s Report, which supports the reduction of the turnover of the company that wants to participate in the Special Plan.

 

  1. SPECIAL PLAN FOR BUSINESSES OF SPECIFIC FINANCIAL ACTIVITIES

The Plan in question is addressed to any company that does not carry out any of the economic activities that are shown in the document on Page 4 as Annex 1 (ΠΑΡΑΡΤΗΜΑ 1) Here..

The Plan in question is addressed to any company under mandatory complete suspension, according to the most recent Decrees of the Minister of Health and the relevant Decisions of the Council of Ministers

  2. No employee has been or will be fired from March 1, 2020 until October 31, 2020, except for reasons for dismissal without notice. It is understood that companies will not be able to fire employees for financial reasons during the above period.
  3. For companies that employ up to 3 employers, a Special Unemployment Allowance will be paid to all employees.

5. SPECIAL PLAN TO SUPPORT THE UNEMPLOYED

The said plan is addressed to any person who is registered as a regular unemployed person in its Employment Service Register and received unemployment benefits, for which he has exhausted the right to be paid either

In January, February, March, April 2020, May 2020, or June 2020.

The Special Allowance will be equal to € 360 for a period of one month and will not provided for any period during which the unemployed received unemployment benefit, sickness benefit, maternity allowance, paternity allowance, institutionalized pension or

any allowance from the Special Plans.

For Hotel Employees who were fired before March 1, 2020, the period of the Unemployment subsidy or Special Unemployment Allowance will be considered as continuous employment for the purposes of the Suspension Plan for work that

Is applied during the winter months.
