National measures to fight the coronavirus pandemic – Cabinet decisions- With effect from 10/05/2021 (time 06.00 am) to 31/05/2021 (time 05.00 am)

The Ministerial Council has just announced measures that will be effective from 10/05/2021 (time 06.00 am) to 31/05/2021 (time 05.00 am):

  1. Traffic ban between 11 pm and 5 am the next day except in the following cases:
    • Going to and from workplaces, as well as for work purposes using the Employee Movement Form,
    • Going to a medical center or hospital or pharmacy or veterinarian for medical emergencies,
    • Abolishment of  the measure of sending a text message to 8998 for movement reasons

 

  1. Gatherings in public places (parks, squares, dams, picnic areas, beaches, sidewalks and marinas, etc.) are allowed, provided that they do not exceed 10 people, including minor children.
  2. Up to 10 people are allowed in homes, including minors.
    • Ecclesiastical and other forms of religious worship in religious places are performed with the necessary presentation of the Coronapass and with a maximum number of 50 people until May 16, 2021,
    • From 17 May 2021, the presence of believers is allowed with a maximum physical presence of 30% of the capacity of the place of religious worship, with the necessary presentation of Coronapass,
    • From June 1, 2021, the presence of believers is allowed with a maximum physical presence of 50% of the capacity of the place of religious worship, with the necessary Coronapass presentation.
    • Meals / dinners and any other events for weddings and christenings with a maximum of 10 persons including minors are allowed until 16 May 2021,
    • From 17 May 2021, meals / dinners are allowed ONLY outdoors, sitting and up to 200 people, with the necessary Coronapass presentation. Cocktails are prohibited,
    • From June 1, 2021, lunches / dinners are allowed to be held indoors on the basis of the agreed schedule, with the necessary presentation of Coronapass.
  3. Religious ceremonies (weddings, baptisms, funerals) with a maximum number of 10 persons are allowed until May 16, 2021. From May 17, 2021, a maximum of 200 people, provided that the capacity limit  of 30% will be met within the place of worship, with the necessary Coronapass presentation .
  4. Education continues normally with physical presence, with the presentation of a mandatory weekly rapid test. The students of Gymnasium, Lyceum and Second cycle, on the 1st day of their presence, i.e. on the 10th of May 2021 will have to present a negative test with a validity of 72 hours.
  5. Visits to hospitals, clinics, medical and diagnostic centers are allowed, with the approval of the Executive Director of the Center and by submitting a negative PCR test within 48 hours.
  6. All outdoor restaurants (restaurants, taverns, cafes, pubs, snack bars and bars, cafes and restaurants inside shopping malls, canteens and / or sports clubs, cultural clubs, clubs, etc.) are allowed to operate on the basis of the current protocol. Guests must posses a Coronapass. From June 1, 2021, the operation of the indoor spaces in dining establishments is allowed.
  7. Outdoor and indoor theaters, amphitheaters, cinemas, and theaters are allowed to operate with:
    • A maximum number of 50 people until May 17, 2021, with the necessary presentation of Coronapass.
    • After 17 May 2021 a maximum limit of up to 30% indoors and 50% outdoors. Coronapass presentation required.
    • From June 1, the occupancy increases indoors with a maximum of 50%, with the necessary coronapass presentation
  8. The public markets will operate with a limit of 50% of capacity and 1.5 meters between persons according to protocol, without the need to present  Coronapass.
  9. The ban on mass events, demonstrations, parades, concerts, open-air festivals, festivals in public or private places remains.
  10. The operation of closed shopping centers is allowed, the presentation of Coronapass being a precondition.
  11. The operation of the rest of the retail trade is allowed, including supermarkets and department stores as well as large stores with observance of the measure 1 person to 10 sq.m. of usable space, with the presentation of Coronapass required only in large supermarkets and department stores.
  12. The operation of beauty salons and hairdressers on the basis of the Protocol is allowed, without the presentation of Coronapass.
  13. The operation of gyms, dance schools and other sports schools is allowed, as they were valid until April 30, 2021 with the necessary presentation of Coronapass for those who train indoors.
  14. The operation of gambling and betting companies is allowed, in compliance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and the National Betting Authority and under the conditions that the measure of one person per 10 sq.m. is observed, without indoor sitting. Outdoor seating is allowed without a Coronapass.
  15. The operation of the casinos is suspended until the 16th of May 2021. The operation of the casinos is allowed from the 17th of May 2021 with a 30% occupancy limit and on the basis of the agreed Protocol, with the necessary presentation of Coronapass. From June 1, 2021 the limit amounts to 50% of total occupancy.
  16. The operation of the swimming pools for sports purposes is also allowed according to the protocol that was valid on April 30, 2021.
  17. Access to the beaches is allowed according to the Protocol in force in the summer of 2020, without the presentation of Coronapass.
  18. Access to outdoor excursion locations, dams and zoos is permitted without a Coronapass presentation.
  19. All group tutoring, as well as sports and social activities for children under 18 are allowed under the Protocol in force on 30 April 2021 (6 + 1); for indoor extracurricular activities with a test within 72 hours while in open areas the obligation remains as it is, i.e. a mandatory test on a weekly basis.
  20. The operation of nightclubs, discos, nightclubs and music and dance venues remains suspended.
  21. The operation of playgrounds, amusement parks and theme parks remains suspended until May 16, 2021. From May 17, 2021, the operation of playgrounds, amusement parks and theme parks on the basis of a protocol and only using outdoor areas, without holding social events (children’s birthdays, etc.).
  22. Suspension of conferences, trade fairs until May 16, 2021. From May 17, 2021, the above is allowed, provided that the measure of 30% of total occupancy is adhered to in the interior of the conference, with a cocktail ban. From June 1, 2021 the occupancy increases to 50%. Participation in conferences requires the submission of a corona pass.
  23. Visits to nursing homes, care centers for the elderly, centers for the chronically ill, structures and hostels for vulnerable groups, temporary hostels, day care centers, child protection facilities, on the basis of issued Protocols and with corona passport presentation are allowed.
  24. Suspension of the operation of Camping areas.
  25. Hotels: Stay in hotels is allowed from May 10, 2021 with the necessary Coronapass presentation.
  26. Pre-election Rallies: They are allowed provided that the occupancy limit where the event occurs is upheld and the attendees will be seated with the necessary presentation of the Coronapass. Cocktails are prohibited.

For Example

  • In open theater / amphitheater up to 50% occupancy
  • In a closed theater / amphitheater up to 30% occupancy,
  • In clubs/Dining establishments in outdoor areas with sitting arrangements
  • In houses with a maximum number of 10 people including permanent residents.

 

  1. In Public (Government) Services: the measure of compulsory teleworking is extended as currently valid until 16 May 2021. From 17 May 2021 compulsory remote work with the exception of Essential Services (ensuring, as far as possible, physical presence) with a maximum number of physical presence up to 50%.

 

  1. In private service companies, the measure of simultaneous physical presence of 30% of their staff remains, with a maximum number of employees that can be physically present of 50 people per business establishment and a minimum of 5 people, until May 16, 2021. From 17th May 2021 physical presence up to 50% is allowed.

 

  1. For the Cup Final, i.e. May 15, 2021, the presence of spectators is allowed (15% occupancy of the stadium to be selected) with the necessary Coronapass presentation.
  2. Cold surgeries are allowed with a bed coverage of 80%, excluding ICU beds in private hospitals which should have a ceiling of 60% occupied beds.
  3. Coronapass conditions
    • Negative test (pcr / rapid) validity within 72 hours
    • Vaccination with at least one dose and a duration completion of at least 3 weeks after vaccination
    • Has been ill for the last 6 months.
