Announcement of the Ministry of Labor, Welfare and Social Insurance for the Special Plan for Partial Suspension of Business Operations

The Ministry of Labor, Welfare and Social Security announces that companies that are partially suspended from work and have applied for participation in the Special Plan for Partial Suspension of the Company for a subsidy of 60% or 75% of the total number of their employers, depending on case, cannot demand from their employers that they work 60% of their working hours, which is subsidized by the Special Unemployment benefits from the State.

It is to be reminded that the Special Part-Time Plan provides the right to companies that are partially suspended from work, if and when they need the services of their employers who will receive the Special Unemployment benefit, to employ their employees for their total working hours. and pay them the rest of their salary.

It is pointed out that, if the employee agrees, it is possible to reduce his working hours, if this is required by the specific economic activity exercised by the company and consequently to reduce the remaining part of the salary that will be paid to him. However, the necessary rule in these cases is for the employer to be employed for a significant part of his working time, which is deemed to be over 60%.
