Announcement of the Ministry of Labor, Welfare and Social Insurance regarding the Special Support Plans

The Ministry of Labor, Welfare and Social Insurance announces that the Special Plans to Combat the Effects of Coronavirus COVID-19 Supplementary Decision (No. 39) of 2020 (KDP 333/2020) has been published today in the Official Gazette of the Republic, according to which the following apply for the period of implementation of the Special Plans from 1 July 2020 to 31 July 2020:
• Leisure Centers and Related to the Tourism Industry Businesses located in the free area of Famagusta and on the coastal front of Paphos and Hotels participating in the Special Plans implemented by the Ministry of Labor, Welfare and Social Insurance, are required to join the Temporary Plans for business cessation in the winter season November 2020 – March 2021 (January 2021 – May 2021 for Mountain Resort Hotels).

• The amount of the Special Unemployment Benefit that will be granted for the period from 1 July 2020 to 31 July 2020 under the Special Unemployment Support Plan increases from € 360 to € 500.

• In addition to the provisions of the Special Plan for Certain Categories of Self-Employed Persons Decision (No. 37) of 2020, an application for the relevant Special Allowance can be also submitted by self-employed workers who are not employers and are registered in the Register of Social Security Services in occupational categories. :

o ii. «8323 – Tourist Bus Drivers»
o iii. «9111 – Street food sellers»
o iv. “9112 – Street vendors other than food (excluding street vendors)”
