The CIBA 24th Annual General Meeting took place with great success at the Amathus Hotel in Limassol, with exclusive sponsor Oxley Holdings Limited. Present at the AGM was the Executive Chairman and CEO of the Oxley Group, Mr Ching Chiat Kwong, who was invited to give a brief welcome at the start of the AGM.
The President of the Association, Mr. Frixos Savvides gave his speech (FS Speech CIBA AGM 2017 ) to distinguished guests and esteemed members, stating amongst others that although he was pleased with the efforts of the government to-date, there was still more that could be done for the International Business Sector in Cyprus. CIBA was honoured to have the President of the Republic H.E. Mr Nikos Anastassiades, address the CIBA members in the presence of high ranking officials and eminent guests. In his address (President speech CIBA 01 12 2017), the President of the Republic, noted the advantages of Cyprus as an International Business centre and expressed his wish for Cyprus to continue on the steady path of economic growth.
Subsequently, the Annual CIBA Excellence Award was presented to Nest Investments Holdings (Cyprus) Ltd., in recognition of their commitment to corporate success and social responsibility and for their significant contribution to the promotion of Cyprus as an international business destination. The award was received by Mr Ghazi Abu Nahl, the Group founder, Chairman and CEO.
Information regarding NEST GROUP.
Nest Group has been in existence for more than 25 years. The group operates in 23 countries. Its line of business includes Insurance, Reinsurance, Banking, Real Estate, Insurance Broking, and World Trade Center operations.
In Cyprus, the operations consist of its Head Quarter for Group Corporate services, the 3rd largest insurance company and the Branch of the Bahrain Reinsurance entity and real estate holdings. The Cyprus entities employ 150 people mostly Cypriots.
The Group, has invested more than 200 million euro in Cyprus, around 50 million after 2013.
The Group founder, Chairman and CEO Mr Ghazi Abu Nahl, a Cypriot National received the award.
The Group has many ambitious projects in Cyprus, with the aim of doubling their investment over the next few years.
It is important to note that Nest Investment Holding Ltd., is a founding member of CIBA and has been a supporter of the Association, since it was established in 1992.
Reference to the CIBA BUSINESS AWARD
4 years ago the CIBA executive committee decided to give an annual CIBA BUSINESS AWARD to a member of CIBA that has excelled in its business thus recognizing the importance and the contribution of the International Business Community to the Cyprus economy
The 1st CIBA award in 2013 was for INNOVATION and was awarded to Avanti Hylas 2 Cyprus Ltd. , a UK PLC Satellite Telecom company.
The 2nd CIBA award was awarded in 2014 for FINANCIAL SERVICES to Windsor Brokers Ltd , a very old established and well known Company operating from Limassol for over 25 years.
The 3rd CIBA award was awarded in 2015 to RCB Bank Ltd. for their TRUST AND CONFIDENCE in the Cyprus economy.
The 4th CIBA award was awarded in 2016 to BeFlexi Ltd, to encourage the set- up of new entrepreneurial ventures and to highlight their significant impact on FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT
