The Minister of Health, Dr. George Pamborides, accepted an invitation from the Cyprus International Businesses Association (CIBA) to inform the members regarding the National Healthcare Scheme and the reform thereof. This event took place at the Amathus Hotel in Limassol.
In his presentation the Minister gave an overview of the Cyprus National Healthcare Scheme, stating amongst others that the NHS was designed to be patient-centered and based on the principles of universality, solidarity, free choice and equal access. He noted that the goal is to upgrade the health services provided to all Cypriot citizens without restrictions and discrimination. Dr. Pamborides stressed that with the introduction of the NHS, a basic right of citizens is being implemented and Cypriot patients will be able to enjoy health services, as is the case in all European countries.
