Vaccination Portal opens for 3rd dose vaccination appointments

As per Ministry of Health Announcement here, strengthening the immunity of specific groups of the population, the Ministry of Health has so far administered a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to 12,100 people through various procedures (through mobile units, walk-in vaccination centres, vaccinations in hospitals, etc.).

As part of the continued procedure for increasing the immune response, the Ministry of Health informs that the following are being implemented:

  • From Monday, October 4th, at 9 a.m., the Vaccination Portal will be available for a 3rd dose vaccination appointment, which will be processed starting Wednesday, October 6th.
  • From Monday, October 4th, persons aged 80 years and over will be eligible for vaccination with a third dose.
  • On Monday and Tuesday, 4-5 October, vaccinations with a third dose will continue via the walk-in vaccination centres for persons aged 80 and over. Walk-in centers are open from 8 am to 1p.m.
  • Beneficiaries who have completed their initial vaccination abroad and are aged 80 years or over will not be able to arrange an appointment for the 3rd dose via the Vaccination Portal. These persons may visit walk-in vaccination centres, which operate in all districts, from Monday to Thursday, from 8 am to 1p.m.

It is recalled that an mRNA vaccine is administered for the 3rd dose. Citizens who come to Vaccination Portals must provide proof of identification (Identity Card, Passport, Alien Registration Card, etc.) and their Vaccination Card.

Finally, it is clarified that, from 4 to 14 October, due to technical upgrades to the Vaccination Portal, no appointment will be possible for the first dose of the vaccine. Citizens wishing to be vaccinated with a 1st dose can be vaccinated at walk-in vaccination centres.

By 30 September, 81% of the adult population received at least the first dose of the vaccine and 78.1% completed their vaccination regimen. In the age group of 12-15 years, 26.5% received at least the 1st dose, while 21.8% completed their vaccination regimen.
