The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ms. Annita Dimitriou, met yesterday, Monday, December 6, 2021, with representatives of the Cyprus International Businesses Association (CIBA), representatives of the Cyprus Chartered Accountants and Accountants (Cyprus) and STEP Cyprus.
During the meeting, the framework of activities of international companies in Cyprus and in the wider European context was discussed. In particular, the representatives of these associations informed the Speaker of Parliament about the prospects that are created in the sectors in question, as well as about the problems faced by the members they represent.
For her part, the Speaker of Parliament stressed the important role played by the services sector in the economy of Cyprus, while emphasizing the need to comply with the European and national framework of rules that already govern this sector.
Finally, the President assured the representatives of the mentioned associations that within the framework of her own responsibilities, she will take every possible initiative to solve the problems that concern their members, in order to maintain the provision of high quality services in Cyprus.
