Foreign Ministry announcement on the Issuance of Certificates by Diplomatic Missions Abroad for Entry into the Republic of Cyprus
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces that citizens falling under the exemptions set forth in paragraph 2a.i and 2a.ii of the Infectious Diseases Decree (No. 5) on the Determination of Measures to Prevent the Spread of Coronavirus COVID – 19 by the Minister of Health on 17/3/2020, can submit their applications to the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Cyprus abroad for the issuance of certificates required for entry to the Republic, until 12 noon (Cyprus time) on Friday, March 20th, based on the following procedures:
a) Persons who have traveled abroad for medical reasons
The competent Diplomatic Mission of the Republic will issue a certificate to citizens who present a medical certificate/supporting document from a Center in which they have received treatment. A certificate will also be issued to persons accompanying them on their departure from Cyprus and/or during their hospitalization/treatment abroad.
(b) Persons who are abroad for a few days’ stay
The competent Diplomatic Mission of the Republic will issue a certificate to persons who traveled abroad for a short stay for professional or other reasons provided that they present
– a boarding pass and/or departure ticket from Cyprus or
– a relevant attestation by their employer
All entry certificates will be issued free of charge. For your convenience you are advised to submit your application and accompanying documentation by e-mail to the competent Diplomatic Mission. Similarly, entry certificates can be sent to those eligible by e-mail.
