Following the decree issued by the Minister of Health on the 19th of March 2020 and published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Cyprus No. 107, regarding the operation of Public Health Hospitals from 06.00 at the 20th of March, it has been decided, in consultation with the Epidemiological Surveillance Unit, that the measures announced, will continue to be effective for another 48 hours
The measures undertaken aim at protecting Public Health. Their purpose is to ensure the better management of human resources and the protection of health professionals working in Public Hospitals, who will be called upon to play the primary role of managing cases that may become seriously ill by coronavirus.
It is also noted that the Accident and Emergency Departments on Limassol and Paphos General Hospitals, will operate with security personnel for the next 48 hours and will handle all incidents that the private sector cannot manage, in consultation with the Ambulance Service and the Ambulance Control Coordination Centre.
