Following yesterday’s decision of the Council of Ministers to carry out SafePass possession checks through the CovScan Cyprus application, the Ministry of Health informs that the measure will be implemented voluntarily and on a pilot basis from November 8 to November 22 and will then become mandatory in order to provide for the necessary time to adapt and familiarize for both those in charge of the audits and the citizens.
This arrangement allows more citizens to obtain the European Digital Certificate COVID, which is used for SafePass purposes, in a format containing a QR code.
More information on the mandatory implementation of the measure after November 22 will be announced at a later stage.
